I work across multiple mediums, from oil paint to weaving. The heart of my artistic practice is rooted in process and materiality, allowing intuition and the mediums’ inherent qualities to guide me.
Inspired by the art of weaving, my work goes through several metamorphoses; building layers of colour and marks to mirror the intricate matrix created by the warp and weft of the loom.
Certain artworks undergo cycles of destruction, reassembly, and transformation. This dynamic process allows narratives to reshape themselves, creating an evolving visual tapestry. Figures may be conjured from the suggestion of a face from staining on the canvas or the way that water has pooled on paper.
These elements invite the viewer to interlace personal narratives into each artwork, stepping into the role of storyteller.
